I was recently looking through an old photo album that my father gave me years ago....mostly black & white family photos from the 1950's.  Most photos from the 1950's and even the early 1960's were in black and white.  But our memories still seem to carry these images in color.  So I decided to do a water "color" painting of the old black & white photo of the Seven Cousins.  Since our family is Swedish I decided to brighten up the dark background in the style of Carl Larsson, a late 19th and early 20th Century Swedish artist. 

I think it might also be fun to take a color photo and bring it "back to the '1950's".... maybe as a black and white water"color" painting!
